Description

Have you ever wanted to go on holiday in Italy but couldn't spare the dosh? do you find yourself loitering about Renaissance fairs and fantasising about tercios, pike and shot and the days when women were more like ladies? or do you need something to convince your sweetie you're suave, learned and cultured? then this is your ultimate freebie! this is a poster / print that I produced from one of my holiday pictures, featuring the poet Tasso.

If you have liked my works so far, please visit: http://artigianista.deviantart.com/store and buy something. Though I haven't been hard at work and the selections are limited, I believe you will find something fun nonetheless.

When photographing somebody elses artwork (ie in this case sculpture) you need to find something special or extra for it not to look like a plain "copy" ... :p

This one lacks that "special touch" imo. ;)

Technically it has some overexposed areas lacking details.
The crop is also very tight.

Take a look at this one and get inspiration: The Burial by Elite, GFXartist sponsor Madanapale

Using the light to make another dimension of another artists work is difficult but can be done. So my suggestion is to search for maybe a special light or angle. Be more creative! :)

It wasn't easy to get that "special feel". When you're working with centuries-old monuments, and your tools are technically crap (no hi-res pics available) this is what you can get. I do have other better-looking pictures around, such as this one:,but unfortunately uploading them to certain sites destroyed the resolution:

Very interesting statue, the details are very nice, but some little parts are overexposed.
Agree with others.....light is the most important factor in photography.
Glad to see you posting again Renatus.
